Three of My Favorite Natural Hair Moisturizers
Moisture is one of the most important factors in cultivating healthy hair. When one’s hair lacks moisture, it becomes dry, brittle, and lack-luster. These will result in breakage, split ends, and in hair that just does not look very appealing.
So, what on earth is moisture? I feel like we have never really defined what moisture really is. Well, moisturizing your hair is locking water into your hair strands. This process looks different for everyone and depends on factors such as hair porosity, which is the hair’s ability to absorb moisture. For example–I have low-porosity hair. My hair loves hot water to open the cuticles on my hair strands, so that water and moisturizing products can absorb into my hair more easily.
With this being said, here are three of my favorite hair moisturizers. These are my “tried and trues”, and I always end up coming back to these, no matter how many other products I try. I highly recommend each of these products for super moisturized hair!
Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie
Okay, I think every single natualista has used this product at some point in their natural hair journey. This product has yet to fail me. In addition to being super moisturizing, it smells absolutely amazing! This product is in my hair as I type this blog post.
2. OGX Coconut Curls
This is another product that smells amazing in addition to being highly moisturizing. This product would also be a great choice for people with low-porosity hair, as it is light-weight and easily absorbs into the hair strands.
3. Camille Rose Naturals Curl Love
Clearly, I have a thing for hair products that smell delicious because this one smells like cake batter (yum)! This hair milk is light-weight and moisturizing (another staple for my low-porosity people). It also keeps your hair moisturized for a long time!
Of course, I have more moisturizing hair products that I love, but these are just a few of my favorites. What are your favorite hair moisturizers? Do we have any in common? Leave your faves below, and don’t forget to like, comment, share, and subscribe if you haven’t already!
